School Library

Our brand new library has over 7,000 books in its collection. Each class visits once a week and students have the opportunity to check out books and use computers after school.

Our Library creates a supportive environment to improve students' literacy and to foster a love of reading. With the help of our full-time librarian, Ms. Schera, students are developing and improving their research skills by learning how to use the library resources and reference materials. All students have the opportunity to listen to Ms. Schera read stories of adventures from around the world. Our overall goal is to encourage and enhance our students' excitement and love for reading.

Discovery After-School Program

Discovery is a comprehensive after-school enrichment program offered to students in 3rd through 8th grade. Activities include theater, dance, art, music, sports, keyboarding, literacy programs, homework help taught by St. Athanasius teachers and staff. Thanks to a generous donor, our parents are charged a modest amount for registration to the program.

Safe Extended Day Program

St. Athanasius School runs an extended day program until 5:30 pm for Pre-K through 2nd grade students whose parents are unable to pick them up immediately after school. The program costs $10/day or $155/month paid via check or money order to the main office. For children who will stay regularly but not every day, parents can purchase a card in advance with multiple days at a reduced daily rate.

English as a Second Language

Title 1 provides an ESL teacher two days a week. St. Athanasius is dedicated to improving its students' written and spoken English proficiency.

Technology Integration

All classrooms are equipped with at least three computers. A technology consultant works with teachers and students to explore new and innovative ways to integrate technology in every aspect of the curriculum.

Music Programs

Education Through Music exposes students to theory, history, and multicultural appreciation of music. Students learn to play a variety of instruments as well as receive vocal music instruction.

The school also offers an in-school band through Paul Effman Music Service.
